Raven Yurt: Features

Wall height: Our lattice system for all of our yurts is configured for a wall height of 7'4"; our competitors' walls are under 7'.

Warranties: 7 years on the standard 18 oz. roof; 10 years on 19 oz. roof and 15 years on the 20 oz. roof.

Wind and Snow Load: Competitor's yurts require additional structural changes for wind and snow loads. Rainier's wind and snow load system is a standard, integral part of the Raven. Because our lattice, rafters, compression ring and covers are superior, our yurts can withstand winds of 90 MPH and snow loads up to 280 lbs/sq ft.

Lattice system: Crafted with clear, mixed grain, kiln dried, hand sanded and treated, our lattice is made of the finest æî by 1-1/2" northwest Douglas Fir.

Compression Ring: The Raven ring is engineered and made of no-void structural grade wood, multi-ply.

Rafters: We use MSR Douglas Fir that is mill finished and treated to take best advantage of the natural beauty of the wood.

Door frame: The Raven frame is made of 2" x 4" or 2" x 6" mixed Douglas Fir.

Door: The Raven yurt has a Douglas Fir door, with a "half light" thermal window. The door includes a residential-style lock set which can be upgraded to a commercial lock. The doors are full-size, 36" x 80" with weatherseals on all sides.

Tension Ccable: Our tension cable is 1/4" thick stainless steel with non-corrosive connectors. The cable is pre-stretched and load tested.

Dome: Clear or tinted formed Plexiglass.

Roof Outer Membrane: The Raven comes with tan, 18 oz. vinyl coated polyester with an acrylic top coat and carries a 7-year warranty. If you choose to upgrade, the fabric will be beige, structural grade, 28 oz. vinyl coated polyester with an acrylic top coat that carries a warranty of 15 years. We cut the fabric, taking advantage of the fabric's strongest grain. The triangular-shaped pieces are then matched and heat sealed together to insure complete water repellency.

Roof and Wall Insulation: The Raven uses LOW-E foil encapsulated, R-7 and environmentally sustainable. You may increase the insulation on your yurt, if you wish.

Roof and Wall Interior Liner: A 6 oz. off-white water repellant treated Polyester is used to line the interior roof and walls of your yurt.

Roof Cinching System: Low stretch polyester cordage cinches your roof at the top.

Wall Attachment to Roof: A system using grommets and cord with an adjustable hook is used to attach the roof. Grommets match to the rafters and lattice for easy installation, better tensioning and good looks.

Wall Panels: The Raven model is wrapped in one piece of 50/50 cotton/polyester with acrylic top coat in one color. A variety of colors are available. Windows come in one style and must be located at the time of purchase. View the Raven Yurt Coloring Tool.

Wall Cinch Under the Decking: Grommets with a polyester cinching cord are used.

Windows: The Raven offers full-length window panels with a screen and clear flap. Window placement is determined at the time of installation.
